Terms of use

MotoIQ is a free set of web tools for people who buy, repair and resell used cars. There are no accounts and nothing on the site can be bought. If paid features are added later, they will come with their own clearly stated terms and price before anyone is asked to pay.

Profit, ROI, break-even prices, repair cost and time ranges, max bids and seasonal timing are calculated from the numbers you enter and from general ranges. Real repair bills, auction fees, resale prices and time to sell can be very different.

Before you buy a vehicle, get an in-person inspection, a written repair quote from a qualified mechanic, and your own comparable sales.

The Title Status Guide, disclosure notes, Red Flag Scanner and other guidance are general information. Title branding, inspection, licensing, dealer and disclosure rules vary by state and change over time. Check current requirements with your state's DMV or a licensed professional before acting on anything you read here.

The Red Flag Scanner looks for common warning signs in text you paste. A listing with no flags can still be a scam, and a flagged listing can be legitimate.

VIN specs and recalls come from NHTSA. The Flip Playbook may use Anthropic's Claude AI to interpret your description of a problem, and eBay listings for part prices. AI output can be wrong or incomplete, NHTSA records may be missing or out of date, and eBay prices are a snapshot of current listings. MotoIQ does not control these services and is not responsible for their accuracy or availability.

Links to marketplaces, auctions and parts sellers are provided for convenience. MotoIQ is not affiliated with those sites and does not vouch for any listing or seller on them.

Saved deals, comps and checklist progress are stored in your own browser, as described in the privacy policy. MotoIQ has no copy. If you clear your browser data, switch devices or your browser deletes it, it cannot be recovered. Keep your own records of anything important.

Do not use MotoIQ to commit fraud, to hide or misstate a vehicle's condition, history or title status to a buyer, or to break any law. Do not overload the site, attempt to break its security, or send automated bulk requests to its tools or APIs.

MotoIQ is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind. It may contain errors, and it may be changed, paused or shut down at any time.

To the fullest extent the law allows, MotoIQ and the people who run it are not liable for any loss or damage from using the site or relying on its results, including money lost on a vehicle purchase, repair or sale.

These terms may be updated as the site changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. Using MotoIQ after an update means you accept the updated terms.
